I want to document our lives while my children are small- photos, quotes, experiences. I’ll also be adding more personal things about myself, such as my 51 Things in 501 Days list and all that junk. It will also include a lot about my goal for our family to live happier and healthier. A broad goal, yes, but it’s doable. And in between all that business I’ll also add the random, inspiring, fun things I might come across on Tumblr and elsewhere.

Capiche will still be VERY active, and probably stay the same.

overheard

Madison cannot talk quietly, ever.
You really fell in love.

You became a steady girlfriend.

YOU BECAME SIGNIFICANT TO YOURSELF.

Sooner or later, you start taking yourself seriously. You know when you need a break. You know when you need a rest. You know what to get worked up about and what to get rid of. And you know when it’s time to take care of yourself, for yourself. To do something that makes you stronger, faster, more complete.

Because you know it’s never too late to have a life. And never too late to change one.

Rainy day cupcakes! I couldn’t...

neverbehopeless:

bakeitinacake:

Rainy day cupcakes! I couldn’t bake real rain into a cupcake, but some blue food coloring and sprinkles almost do the trick! To make your own, just add a couple drops of blue food coloring or food gel to 1/3 of your favorite vanilla cake batter. Scoop a tablespoon of it into the bottom of your paper lined cupcake tins to make the “puddle.” Next, add a few tablespoons of blue jimmies sprinkles to the remaining (undyed) batter to make the raindrops. Add a couple tablespoons of that to the cupcake tins. Then bake! Finish ‘em off with a “cloud” of white vanilla buttercream—suddenly your rainy, cloudy day becomes a delicious treat! (You know what goes really well with rainy day cupcakes? DOUBLE RAINBOW CUPCAKES! All the way!)

You guys, these are the cutest things I’ve ever seen.

The American Red Cross has set up a special designation for disaster relief efforts in Japan. To donate, click here, or text REDCROSS to 90999 to instantly donate $10.

Here are more ways to help. If you aren’t able to give money, please consider donating blood. Japan has been severely affected by this disaster but other parts of the world have, as well, and people are going to need blood. So even if you don’t live in Japan, consider donating, anyway.

She’s only 25 and has no family history. In her words:

I am currently undergoing treatment for breast cancer and will be walking in the Mother’s Day Classic to raise money for breast cancer. I’ll be joined by my team “The Roaring Twenties”, three other young women in their twenties who are also being treated.

Every extra dollar I raise through fundraising goes towards vital research into the prevention and cure of breast cancer. I will be participating along with 100,000 Australians nationwide who are making a difference on Mother’s Day and taking steps to save lives by helping fund the best breast cancer research.

I know I don’t have very many followers, but those of you who do follow and come across this post, please reblog, pass the message on. And for those that can, please sponsor Elisha or donate in your own way. All funds raised go to the National Breast Cancer Foundation. It’s such an important cause.
